SIOP Training 2025 (Cassia County) – 2 credits

This professional development course focuses on evaluating and improving educational programs to enhance student learning and outcomes. Participants will learn how to assess curriculum design, teaching methods, and student data to determine the effectiveness of a program. The course covers strategies for analyzing program strengths and weaknesses and making data-driven decisions for improvement. Educators will also explore ways to align programs with Idaho Core Teacher Standards and student needs, ensuring quality in instruction. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to … 1. Participants will study and discuss how to improve instruction using the 8 components of SIOP in order to support multilingual learners and other students needing additional support. 2. Participants will write or augment lesson plans to incorporate SIOP components. 3. Participants will engage in meaningful live and virtual discussions in order to collaborate about instructional practices which will benefit students and increase comprehensibility and accessibility. 4. Participants will plan, record, and reflect on instructional opportunities which align with SIOP instruction and set goals for continuous improvement. 5. Participants will refer to group discussions, textbook materials, and additional resources in order to try new instructional strategies and differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
