Forever Fit 2025

This 3 credit professional development course focuses on evaluating and improving educational programs to enhance student learning and outcomes. Participants will learn how to assess curriculum design, teaching methods, and student data to determine the effectiveness of a program. The course covers strategies for analyzing program strengths and weaknesses and making data-driven decisions for improvement. Educators will also explore ways to align programs with Idaho Core Teacher Standards and student needs, ensuring quality in instruction. Course Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Participants will be able to understand and perform warm-up and cool-down exercises, preventing injury and support better walking. 2. Participants will improve their range of motion and joint flexibility, enhancing mobility and reducing the risk of injury during daily activities. 3. Participants will increase their muscular strength, particularly in their legs and core, to support better walking endurance and functional movement. 4. Participants will enhance their ability to maintain balance and stability during walking and other everyday tasks, reducing the likelihood of falls. 5. Participants will develop better posture while walking using four key phrases: gaze 12 ft ahead, chin up, shoulders back and relaxed, engage core. 6. Participants will improve cardiovascular health and stamina, enabling them to walk longer distances and engage in daily activities with less fatigue. 7. Participants will experience a safe and social-supportive environment for fitness-related activity components.
