Language Acquisition - B - Cassia County

The Language Acquisition B course adds to the content of the A course in supporting students with developing their academic language. Content is tied to principles and resources from SIOP, WIDA, the Go-To-Strategies for Language Learners, and many online sources. Coursework is 100% online via the Canvas platform. During the course, participants will explore learning materials, post on discussion boards, and plan (and execute) improvements to lesson plans for the benefit of students. This course is intended for faculty and staff involved in student instruction. Administrators and paraprofessionals can also benefit from the course, but will need opportunities to work directly with students (either whole-class or small group) in order to successfully implement course content and perform course assignments. Only participants who have completed the Language Acquisition A course are eligible to take this course. The content of this course goes beyond the complexity of the A course, but the coursework is less intense than the first version (2024) of the A course and is more flexible for participants.
