Learning Lab 2024 Empowering Educators course

This is the first activity in the New Faculty Onboarding process. New faculty will join the Instructional Deans to learn about the general expectations of CSI faculty and the overall CSI campus culture. New faculty will also participate in professional development relevant to beginning their first semester in any modality of CSI classroom: face-to-face, online, blended, or hybrid. Though this workshop will have separate learning tracks for new and returning faculty, one purposeful element is to promote a sense of community by bringing them together to develop professional campus relationships. Returning faculty will explore active learning in various modalities. 1 Credit. Course Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) Upon completion of this course, students will be able to … New Faculty Track 1. Introduction to Standards-Based Planning and Assessment - 1 Credit

This one-credit course will be based on attendance at the SJHN Conference and submission of a final project. Teachers must attend all keynote sessions and workshops related to implementing the new content standards. Following the conference, teachers will fully develop a standards-based lesson plan to include student learning objectives, instructional resources and strategies, and authentic assessment (formative or summative).

Language Acquisition - A - Cassia County

Cassia County School District Professional Development Course. Upon completion of this 1 credit course, students will be able to: 1. Become familiar with the characteristics, strengths, and needs of language learners and other students. 2. The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) and the Idaho Digital Learning Alliance (IDLA) have teamed up with the Danielson Group and TeachForward to create a remote learning module. As an Idaho Educator you can register on this page to earn 3 professional development credits. Each of the six clusters have a Notecatcher Tool to guide thinking and learning and strategies to consider implementing. This training gives educators an in-depth understanding of the components of the SIOP® Model and strategies to implement it in their schools and classrooms. Educators gain practical skills to collaborate, share, and implement lesson plans that incorporate all eight components and thirty features of the SIOP® Model in order to teach content while developing students’ academic and social language. This offering blends 2 days of face-to-face training and 4 virtual sessions for a more flexible delivery requiring fewer days out of the classroom.
